Health benefits of this salad?
This salad isn’t just tasty—it’s good for you, too! Here’s why:
Watermelon – Hydrating, refreshing, and full of antioxidants like lycopene which helps fight inflammation and supports heart health.
Peaches – A good source of vitamins A and C, peaches are also rich in fiber and may help improve digestion and skin health.
Feta Cheese – Adds calcium and protein while being lower in fat than many other cheeses. It also brings that creamy, tangy flavor we love.
Basil – Known for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, basil gives this salad an herbal lift while supporting immune health.
Balsamic Glaze – A touch of sweetness and tang without too many added calories. Balsamic vinegar can also help regulate blood sugar and improve digestion.
Castelvetrano Olives (optional) – High in healthy fats and antioxidants, these olives add richness while supporting brain and heart health.

FAQS:
-
Yes, but it’s best when served fresh. If prepping ahead, combine all ingredients except the balsamic glaze and store in the fridge. Add the glaze right before serving to prevent sogginess.
-
Fresh is best for texture, but you can use thawed frozen peaches and watermelon in a pinch. Just be sure to drain any excess liquid.
-
Goat cheese, vegan feta, or even fresh mozzarella work well. For a dairy-free version, skip the cheese entirely or use your favorite plant-based alternative.
-
Stack the leaves, roll them up like a cigar, and slice thinly crosswise. Voilà, perfect ribbons of basil!
-
Absolutely! Kids love the sweet combo of watermelon and peaches. Just go easy on the balsamic if they’re sensitive to tangy flavors.
-
Pair with avocado toast, add quinoa, or serve alongside grilled tofu or chickpeas for extra plant-based protein.
Now go and enjoy the taste of summer!
