I want you to PAUSE.
and ask yourself, what do I really need right now?
Are you reaching from habit? Desire? To numb? To feel? To manage?
I did it for all of these reasons.
I would smoke to ease pain—
physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
I would drink to fit in—
how could I turn down a happy hour or glass of wine with dinner?
I would snack to deal with a sense of loneliness—
if I was snacking then I was focused on that.
I would scroll to find connection—
when really I was finding myself in avoidance.
I would check my emails to find a sense of purpose—
because if I helped others I must be doing something right.
It didn’t end there. I would use workouts and fitness classes to push myself—
which always led me to judgment and comparison.
Until I finally stopped.
It wasn’t overnight, it took time.
I still practice what I preach.
Which is how to regulate your body, brain + nervous system through practices + techniques that include energy healing, sound healing, somatic movement, kundalini yoga + intuitive eating.
This is the base of my work as a Holistic Recovery Coach.
Because the truth is we are all addicted to something + so often that something is not loving ourselves.
