Fight the Bloat with these 5 Foods

Memorial day is behind us which means summer is upon us; which means it is time to store your sweaters and unpack your bathing suits.

As a woman I know I can suffer from bloating whether it be diet or hormone related no one wants to be dealing with extra bloat during this season.

I have put together a list of some summer staple foods that are seasonal and will decrease the bloat along with ways to incorporate them into your routine!

The list ~

Cucumber - a natural diuretic, this food helps to flush out the system ~ if you have a juicer thats a great place to start, if not add a few slices to some lemon water, or eat chopped up raw with a splash of apple cider vinegar.

Celery - similar to cucumbers this food is packed with water and helps the system to naturally flush out the system and give the stomach a more slender appearance. ~ a great addition to any juice (cucumber and celery juice is the ultimate de-bloater) great to snack on by the pool or at the beach to keep the bloat down.

Asparagus - these pretty stalks are loaded with potassium which aids in the removal of excess fluids from the body, and we know less fluid means less bloat. ~ A great addition to any raw salad or throw some on the grill while cooking up dinner!

Eggplant - low in sodium and high in water, which means it too will naturally flush the system. ~ great grilled, or roasted, check out this recipe with miso dressing as well for some inspiration.

Bananas - loaded with fiber and potassium bananas help relieve water retention ~Add one to a smoothie in the morning to kickstart a bloat free day *tip - I like to peel bananas and keep them in the freezer to be used in smoothies*

Remember, listen to your body! Stay hydrated as the weather warms up and be sure to munch on those cooling debating foods. Your bikini photos will thank me.
